In 1982, he graduated from Mason County Central High School in Scottville, where he was a member of the wrestling team. Keenan considers this 'the best move ever made'. Since rising to fame, Keenan has been a recluse, although he does emerge to support charitable causes.Īlthough originally from Ohio, Keenan spent his high school and college years in Michigan. Among other business ventures, he is a partner in the Los Angeles restaurant Cobras & Matadors. His family has been involved in winemaking he currently owns Merkin Vineyards and Caduceus Cellars in Arizona, where he resides. In addition to his music career, he has performed improvisationalstand-up comedy inspired by close friend Bill Hicks and ventured into acting. In 2003, he created Puscifer as a side project, financing and releasing its first studio album in October 2007.
